Electrical and Controls Engineer/Technologist

C3 Water Inc. provides consulting services to the municipal water and wastewater industry.  Typical clients include municipalities in Southern Ontario.  Projects include all phases of the typical project life-cycle including; engineering studies, planning and conceptual design, asset management including infrastructure inventory, condition assessments and risk rating, preliminary and detailed design, approval support, tendering support, contract administration and site inspection, start-up and commissioning and operational support and optimization.

Continued growth has C3 Water Inc. is seeking a candidate to fill this Intermediate Level position. 

The successful applicant will have over 5 years’ experience electrical and controls design in the water/wastewater industry, be proficient with English language communication and technical report writing skills and have the ability to work well individually and with others as a part of a project delivery team.  They must have a positive attitude towards the firm and their co-workers and  must be self-directed, responsible and hard working with strong design and analytical skills.

A valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.  The successful candidate will hold a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma and hold or be eligible for P.Eng./CET status.

Specific skills and competencies include solid working knowledge and experience with:

  • the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Ontario Building Code,
  • the design of power distribution systems, standby power generation, MCC and switchgear line-ups, motor control schematics, lighting and low voltage power applications
  • commissioning and troubleshooting electrical power systems
  • electrical drawings, control schematics instrument installations, power wiring and loop wiring

Annual salary will depend upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.  Employees become eligible for a company sponsored benefits program after successfully completing a six (6) month probationary period and become eligible for a company sponsored registered pension program after one (1) year of service.

Diego Prashad, P.Eng.

C3 Water is pleased to announce the upcoming addition of Diego Prashad, P.Eng. to our team in the position of Municipal Infrastructure Project Manager.  Diego is a Project Manager with a background in design engineering, construction management, and inspection.  He has over 12 years of progressive, hands on experience working in the area of municipal infrastructure, engineering design and construction management. Diego has proven to be highly capable in all facets of the municipal infrastructure construction process from studies and concept development, through preliminary and detailed design, agency approvals, estimating project costs, and contract document preparation, tendering support, contract administration and field design optimization.

Thank you to OWWA for organizing the 2019 Member Appreciation Event at one of the most exciting Blue Jays game of the season, August 12, versus the Texas Rangers.

C3 Water staff and guests were in attendance for the 19-4 hitting extravaganza. The highlight of the game was when Emma and Mitch needed to flee from the last home run. While the ball was snagged by someone in the row behind, Emma ended up getting a commemorative photo!

The ‘Fresh Ideas’ of Emma Thompson, M.A.Sc., a C3 Water Young Professional

At the 2018 OWWA Annual Conference in Niagara Falls, Emma presented her paper, Case Study: Modelling Transients using InfoSurge.   Her presentation earned her the top spot in the OWWA chapter “Fresh Ideas Competition”.  For this achievement, Emma received free registration & travel to the annual AWWA ACE conference in Las Vegas, NV, where she again presented her paper and a poster with the respective winners from all AWWA chapters achieving an overall third place award!!
