City of Guelph- Zone 2 Pumping Station Capacity Analysis

The City of Guelph (City) retained C3 Water Inc (C3W) to review the short and long-term pumping requirements for pressure Zone 2. The project utilized the City’s water model and included recommending short term and long term pumping capacities for Zone 2 to 2040.

Design points were identified to best service Zone 2 and work in combination with the other pumping stations and the Speedvale elevated tank. Due to limited elevated storage and the presence of large inground storage, the pumps were required to supply maximum day demands plus fire. The area serviced by the Zone 2 pumping stations include large industry which have significant fire flow requirements. The project was completed to help the design of the Paisley Pumping Station upgrades and will feed the Robertson Booster Pumping Station design.

The recommended pumping capacities were provided for short-term targets with the ability to replace the pumps with larger pumps in the future to service the expected growth to 2014.
